Kahama Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (KUWASA) was established on June 21, 2002, under the Water Works Act Cap 272, and later restructured through the Water Supply and Sanitation Act of 2009.

We are a Category A Authority, which means KUWASA operates independently and is fully responsible for financing all its operational costs and service improvement initiatives.

Our Water Source

KUWASA sources its water from Lake Victoria, ensuring a reliable and sustainable supply for the residents of Kahama. The water is transported over a distance of 117 kilometers through a high-capacity pipeline network with diameters of 1200 mm, 1100 mm, and 750 mm.
